- How can I improve my chances of participating in studies?
4.1. Check our web site regularly. We post some of the studies for which we are currently recruiting. Visit our Current Projects page to see if a study posted is something you may qualify for and would find interesting. You can indicate your interest by clicking on the email link and sending us an email about that study. If the information you submit suggests that you may qualify, one of our Recruiters will contact you. If the information you submit does not meet the qualifications that our clients are looking for, you will receive an email within 10-14 days letting you know this. This is typically how long it takes to recruit our projects.
4.2. Update your profile regularly. Simply enter your email address and password and check to see that your profile is up-to-date and complete. The more accurate your profile is, the better the chances are that we will contact you for a study for which you may qualify.
4.3. Check your email regularly. From time to time, we "email blast" our database when clients have fast turnaround projects or are looking for someone unique who would take a lot of time to find via telephone calling. If you get our email and think you may qualify, click on the link in the email and send in your information; this usually takes 30 seconds.
4.4. Refer a friend to our database; Introduce them to the joys of L&E Research's paid market research studies. The more people in our database, the more clients we can convince to visit Raleigh and conduct studies with us, since more database members equals more fresh opinions and perspectives. Refer friends and family members to the sign-up form of our website. It only takes five minutes and we guarantee to them, just as we did you, that they will get the chance to try new products and services before they hit the market, influence the next generation of products and services before they are introduced, and to participate in other market research studies that always pay them cash for their time and opinions! We will never sell their information nor give it to anyone, including our clients. We ensure complete confidentiality!
- Will you tell me for whom the research is being conducted?
Sometimes we will tell you beforehand for whom the research is
being conducted but most often we will not. The reason is that
we do not want participants to have any preconceived ideas or
impressions prior to the group. For example, if you had a negative
opinion of a company, it would most certainly affect your opinion
toward that company's new product or service. The same would be
true with a positive attitude. Not knowing will assure unbiased
opinions toward the proposed idea.
- How will you contact me about research studies?
L&E Research contacts database members by email and by telephone.
The majority of our contacts are currently made by Recruiters
via telephone; however, in the future, more and more of our contacts
will be made by email. This will minimize the number of calls
we make to you, thereby minimizing any intrusions on your day/evening.
You can then email your response at your convenience. If we then
require additional information to determine if you qualify for
a study, one of our Recruiters will contact you by phone.
- How do I know that the company calling me on the phone
is L&E Research?
1. If at any time you think that the caller is attempting to sell
you a product or service, then this is NOT L&E CALLING.
2. If at any time you are asked to give your Social Security Number
or any credit card information, then this is NOT L&E CALLING.
3. If at the end of the screening questions you are asked to pay
for participation, then this is NOT L&E CALLING. We pay you.
YOU DO NOT PAY US!
4. If the caller does not identify herself/himself as an L&E employee
then this is NOT L&E CALLING.
5. If you are still unsure, call L&E during business hours
at our office number, 782-3860, and ask whether or not research
on the subject about which you have questions is being conducted.
6 . Call the Better Business Bureau. L&E Research is a member.
7 . Call and ask for the President of L&E Research. Ask as
many questions as you can so that if you come to a focus group
at L&E you will be absolutely sure that this is not some kind
of clever sales presentation.

- If I want to participate in focus group research, why
is it necessary to answer all those questions that are put into
the database?
Answers to these questions help us determine whether or not to
call you for a particular focus group. For example, if we were
looking for women aged 25-49, who had two children living at home,
and you do not fit into that category, then we would not call
you for this particular study. This will save you and L&E
a lot of time.
- Will I ever be contacted by L&E Research for any
other purpose than paid research studies?
About once or twice a year, L&E Research conducts member database
drives. At those times, L&E Research contacts people in the
database to see if they know of others that would be interested
in participating in paid research studies. During the database
drives, we conduct contests, awarding prizes for those that participate.
Past prizes have included $500 travel gift certificates, mountain
bikes, gift certificates to major stores in the area and other
great prizes. We promise this does not happen any more than twice
a year and if you are not interested in participating simply ignore
our calls/emails, as we only make one attempt to notify you of
these events.
- What else does L&E Research do besides pay Raleigh
area citizens for their time and opinions?
L&E Research is always exploring new ways to deliver services
to our clients that also meet our mission to the community, which
is conducting market research that pays people for their time
and opinions. As new opportunities present themselves, L&E
Research will explore those and make them accessible to you as
a member of our database. Regardless of what new services we offer,
you can be assured that your information will remain confidential.
L&E Research is also actively involved in the community and
sponsors a number of organizations, particularly those involved
with children, since we do a lot market research with kids. The
groups we sponsor include PlaySpace, Junior Achievement, The Eastern
Chapter of the North Carolina Alzheimer’s Association, Wake
Technical Community College Foundation and numerous other organizations
throughout the Triangle. We are proud to be a part of the Triangle
area community and give back to her frequently, since the Triangle
area brings so much to us.
- Can my child participate in your research studies and will they be paid?
Yes. L&E has paid children of all ages to participate in market research studies. Since it is our policy not to contact a child directly, we ask that you provide your child’s gender and date of birth when you sign up in our database. When we look for children to participate in a study, we contact the parents who have signed up with us whose children fit the age and gender we need. If your child is the age we are looking for, we will get your approval before talking with your child.
