April is a graduate of Liberty University and holds two degrees. She’s been with L&E Research since 2008, but prior to that she worked at the News & Observer for over five years. April started out as a recruiter at L&E, moved onsite as a Client Services Representative, and then became a Finance Admin, then Finance Manager and is currently the Director of Finance and Human Resources. She has a passion for working with numbers and people, so feels her current role is the perfect fit! April, originally from Ontario, Canada, became a US Citizen on her husband’s birthday in 1997. Outside work, she enjoys theater, dancing, movies, and gardening. Architecture fascinates her, and meeting inspiring people who have made a difference in their lives motivates her because they remind her how much one life can make a difference.

My love for God, family and my church. Without them, I would be nothing.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Chocolate – I will eat just about any type, my most favorite is milk chocolate. It is my nemesis!

What book or movie title would best represent the story of your life?

Forrest Gump – “Life is a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get!”

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

To be invisible. I would love to wreak havoc but experience no consequence.

What is the one thing most people don’t know about you?

I received a letter from the late Queen of England’s lady-in-waiting when I was about 10 years old.
